I have many albums of photos I had taken. Mostly developed at Photomat. I have pictures of all the cats I have owned. I recently donated pictures to a place I had worked with many years of people who had worked there. I have old photos of my grandparents and some great grandparents. Recently my cousin sent me pictures of dad in the army, one I had never seen. He must have sent to his brother my uncle. He was 18 years old, (he looked 12), also there were pictures of my parents when they were dating probably 16 or 17 years old. I love having these photos, my dad has been gone about almost 25 years and my mom almost 30. When I look at these pictures it brings them back to me in ways I never knew them. Kate, I love your columns, they always spark something in my heart and soul.

Yes! “Remember, we were here.” 🥹 So thankful for boxes of albums and some loose photographs from my grandmother and aunt, and mother in law, some with information written on the back, remembering all the people and pets who went before us.🥹🩷😊

We have a chest full of real photos that I have put off digitalizing for too long. Surprised that you don't do that.

Back in the day like you said Kate, I have many albums but also have boxes and bags of loose pictures in bins! When we moved into our retirement home, it’s been just a little over two years. Those bins, may I add 9 bins which only 3 bins contain albums in them; they still sit down in the basement! I also bought albums in the beginning of this summer to hope that I can get down in the basement to organize and put all my loose pictures into photo albums. I feel this is a winter project so hopefully this winter I’ll be working on this!

I inherited my mother's albums, my grandmother's albums and have my own. My mother had taken many of her pictures and placed them in albums by family. My sister and I had our own childhood albums plus our children's. My mother-in-law had sorted all of our pictures and sent them back to us. Last fall, I rounded up all the pictures we have, in albums, cigar boxes, plastic bags, stuck in a cubbie in the desk, and sorted. It took months, many new albums, and totes!
