As an old colleague remarked this week, “stumbling into something is still moving forward” and it’s a perfect sentiment for this week’s column.
Silly me did not realize there was no local paper the week of Thanksgiving so that means the column I thought I would post here this week won’t actually post until next week because it won’t run in the paper until next week.
Oops.
Somehow I’m both behind and ahead of myself. Worse things have happened, of course, and the great thing about doing your own thing is you can do whatever you want.
I’ll admit it felt good to take a bit of a breather and I’m going to use this opportunity to share one of my more recent and new favorite drawing from my Secret Monster Project.
It may sound a little odd but with my drawing, I never really know what might come out. I just start doodling and characters seem to emerge. This one and the facial expressions on each character just make me laugh.
I have titled it “Networking” and I hope you enjoy.
In other Secret Monster news, my limited edition hardcovers of my book, “You Monster! (That’s a Compliment) have arrived and they are a delight. The majority will likely go to family and friends with a few copies on shelves locally — but stay tuned — I am planning to make the book more widely available and even have some interest from local sellers. So, that’s very exciting!
Whatever you do, don’t do, plan or completely forget — have a wonderful week!

Ha, the pic looks like me facing my week ahead!!! I haven't seen a lot of the monsters, but my favorite, so far, is the one named "Jasper" - it looks like it's full name would be Jasper Cantankerousaurus!
