Thank you, Kate, words I need to hear. I am disappointed in some the people in the country. I keep hoping for the best working to keep this country the beautiful melting pot it has always been, People from different backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles enrich our lives not bring them down.
Much thanks for the dedication, and perhaps at times, discipline to continuously share your thoughts and experiences for all to embrace. You have an exceptional expression of subjectivity in your account of the objective. Never do you state judgement. I can appreciate that often overlooked fact. I look forward to hearing more....which leads to my purpose of this comment: If this is your last post; where can I continue to read your shares?
'Courage' is definitely the word to describe this essay, but courage & stregth of cconvictions would describe it best! Your views are described very well! You wish for the ability,of yourself & all the others who live in this country to feel safe & free to express your views w/out fear of retaliation from those who might disagree w/ them!! This & all the other fredoms described which have been fought & paid for w/ the blood of American soldiers fighting to preserve those rights for all Americans, not just the one's they agree with! Bravo & kudos to you Kate Welshofer for both your courage & the strength of your convictions!! In sight of what transpired on this election day, I'm guessing the majority of those who voted either blelieve you either don't have the right to those freedoms or do not realize how close they are to relinquishing them to an admtted admirer of autocracy, someone who definitely believes just that, 'you don't have that rigbt' & they are relinquishing those freedoms without a protest, a whimper or a shot fired! Close to 250 years of progess in the struggle to ensure those freedoms,& 'poof'' it's all been put in jeopardy by this election & a totally out of control Supreme Court! Sad day for America!
Just remember our forefathers were brilliant people who put in safeguards for just about everything. I think they would feel abandoned by your comments. But they would also embrace them because it is free speech. FYI… I do not believe we are going into the proverbial sewer because of one man. It took many men and women to put us here.
Too many discrepancies across the states concerning voting tabulation. A recount is in order, since many ballots have not been counted after being received or not ever being received through the mail. Everyone should be on board with this recount. We have time to do this before January 2025. Let’s double check this election, just in case the voting machines didn’t tabulate votes correctly. If someone doesn’t want a recount, then I would question why.
I love when a writer captures exactly what so many of us are feeling. I will be sharing this to the moon and back! You are the best ❤️
