There’s a lot of interest in the Wives of Henry the VIII. There is a musical, Six, in which each of the six wives are characterized as rock divas; a brand new musical that just opened in London that’s getting rave reviews called 1536, all about Ann Bolyn. You also might enjoy the PBS series Wolf Hall - it really shows what a real narcissistic stinker Henry was and the type of people who tried to manipulate him. Nobody involved with a narcissist ends up winning…..a theme that’s sounding awfully familiar these days.

Read this as I'm battling my own cold and wicked cough and feel your pain and...interesting choices? :) I applaud you being able to dive into the subject matter. Hope you completely heal soon!

I think you would like the book The Other Boleyn Girl. Especially while you're still on the mend and might have some extra time to read because of it. I had never thought twice about Henry VIII or anyone of that era until I came across this book and couldn't put it down. I hope you feel back to normal soon😊

Get better soon......maybe someday we can share rabbit hole journeys....LOL

A complete history lesson that ended up being the set up for the punch line! Bravo!

Though often repeated, there is very little evidence to support the legend Henry ordered a special swordsman from France as a kindness to Anne. Let alone that the sending for such a person (and the travel to London) would have had to have occurred long before her trial--so much for a gracious gesture.
