Having grown up in Perry I have always had interest in the life and career of a fellow Perryite. I support your decisions and appreciate your continuing interest in keeping us informed of your thoughts and aspirations. Good luck. Good wishes!
I forget you hailed from Perry, NY. When I was in HS we used to drive out to Perry to the Champion mills outlet store. Yo had to dig thru big boxes of stuff to find treasures. A tee shirt with blurred lettering might cost 25 cents. Sweat pants might be 99 cents. But I looked for the funny stuff. A sweat shirt might have arms that were 4 ft long. Or one long arm and one short. 10 buck could buy a load full of stuff in Perry.
Oh yes! Don't you miss the old outlet?! Always fun searching through those old bins. We had a ton of sweatshirts and t-shirts from all kinds of random places! Thanks, Clay.
Kate! I love this- all of it- such richness that will undoubtedly reassure others who have lept, nudge those on the fence, and peak some internal evaluations and envisioning for others .. As a recent leaper, myself 🙋♀️, I can appreciate all facets AND rewards of living boldly.
How fun would it be to a have group of women- different sectors, varying ages, unique journeys, and current paths engaged in a spirit-fueled fireside chat (with refreshments) sharing their journeys of "the leap" as others around find inspiration to make their own leaps founded in purpose and designed with harmony! 🤔
I highly relate to having the "not this" moment. Betting on myself was the scariest and most liberating thing I've ever done. Not everyone understood it, but I don't regret it for a second. Happy for you!
It seemed like there was a change in the show, around the end of summer, where your role changed to a more serious "anchor persona" rather more of a "subtle, smooth anchor persona?" Before that, the delivery was like, "Oh, there's news in here, too." - very smooth* show. Perhaps, it was being directed or steered away from that format, or I'm imagining more into it than is real, idk? I hope this doesn't come across as critical, as you did a really great job and I have much respect for you and the work you do! You've much to be proud of!!!
Nothing wrong with getting to the place, in life, you've decided you'd really rather be!😊☺️😊
*(Smooth as in smooth criminal - you did have a partner in crime, am I right!😁 Almost as smooth as Chip on that Zamboni!)😁
Doing what makes your heart happy is what life is about; for me this included giving back to others. As I contemplated retirement from teaching, the discussions with my husband revolved around that. You can always find ways to make money but your time should be with those who appreciate you and your unique gifts. All the best to you on your journey, Kate. 🙂
I am glad you made the decision to step away. I retired a year early because I could no longer afford do the job I was doing. It was a very, very, very toxic work environment. I had lost a ton of weight because of all the stress. The final nail in the coffin was, when my boss wouldn't let me take off time to go my best friend's father's funeral. I held long enough to get Medicare, so I would have health insurance and really had no plans, I knew I had to heal myself.

Appreciate that, Bob. Thanks so much for taking the time to read and leave a comment!

Well done, Kate. Gosh, do I get it, in my own way. And I never looked back. Well done. xo

Good for you Kate! I look forward to following your journey on here.
So well said and so genuine!
